CHARITY SECTOR MANAGEMENT AND BUSINESS ENTERPRISE

Jo’s experience working across commercial, voluntary and public sectors means she is equipped with a solid understanding of the skills and considerations that individuals and organisations face in navigating for sustainable success. Jo set up Rocket Artists’ Studios Community Interest Company in 2016. As founder and co-director of the social interest company she has worked in all aspects of the business, managing organisational growth and supporting people who work and use the service. She has been responsible for growing turnover, developing partnership opportunities and matching funding budgets with ambitions of the staff and members, who are all artists. She has raised project funds and managed budgets in excess of 350,000 and is proud to work alongside a specialist team of 10 freelance staff who deliver sessions and projects throughout the year in their dedicated studios in Brighton, UK.

Rocket Artists Studios is a not-for-profit CIC – a group of diverse artists who develop collaborative and inclusive strategies alongside making art. The CIC aim is to provide opportunities and support for artists who face additional barriers due to learning, physical or neurodivergent differences. This artist-led group celebrates diverse identities, abilities and art practices and the studios provide dedicated space and support for professional development.
