With experience across commercial, voluntary and public sectors, Jo has a solid understanding of the skills and considerations that individuals and organisations face in navigating for sustainable success. She set up the Community Interest Company Rocket Artists’ Studios in 2016 and as co-founder and managing director of the social enterprise she has worked in all aspects of the business; from managing organisational growth and supporting individuals and communities who work in and use the service. The Studios deliver face to face sessions, projects and specialist training throughout the year, from two dedicated, community based studios in Brighton, UK.
Responsible for managing and growing turnover, developing partnership opportunities and aligning funding budgets with needs and ambitions of staff and members she has raised project funds and successfully managed large budgets for the past decade. She is proud to work alongside 3 co-directors and a specialist staff team of 15 committed creatives
Rocket Artists’ Studios is a not-for-profit CIC – a group of diverse artists who develop collaborative and inclusive strategies alongside making art. The CIC was set up to provide opportunities and support for artists who face additional barriers due to learning, physical or communication differences. As an artist-led organisation Rockets CIC celebrates diverse identities, abilities and art practices and the studios provide dedicated space and support for professional development.
